I know the video card isn't the best but i don't do a whole lot of gaming just counter-strike which i can play fine on the integrated graphics i have right now, and i'll probably upgrade later this year

My advice would be change the psu from "free with case" to something better (Antec (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103927) enermax or ocs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104154) psu)

I would, i just really don't have the extra $70 for a psu. I'm more conserned about what you guys think about the hardware, do you guys think an amd xp system would be better?

can't delete - only close.

i would suggest against Epox motherboards. I've heard they're bottom-of-the-line, but I have no experience with them.

Nice choice in video card

Why XP Home? Why not Pro?

the old deskstar reputation no longer holds with the newer Hitachi made Deskstar drives. in fact, many businesses order Hitachi drives exclusively due to higher reliability per volume than Maxtors or WDs

Actually, ask yourself: Why pro? Why NOT home? Does he need to connect to an active directory network? is this a dual processor machine? What does pro offer that he actually needs?
