View Full Version : Web Hosting - Unlimited Bandwidth
Hey folks - I'm looking for a recommendation for web hosts that offer unlimited bandwidth.
Sure I could do a Google search; however, I'm looking for recommendations from Short-Medians that already have experience working with a particular ISP.
Currently I'm exceeding my bandwidth quite excessively each month and I am worried that the ISP will eventually pull the plug.
Any assistance/direction would be appreciated.
Thanks
I cant help but recommend http://www.sarcnet.com .. they offer excellent, friendly service. http://www.sarcnet.com have always provided on time service delivery when my sites needed. Short-Media is powered by http://www.sarcnet.com :)
Several members of this site have their sites hosted by http://www.sarcnet.com, who all are very satisfied with the level of service provided by http://www.sarcnet.com .. your quality webhost partner :D
(Btw.. primesuspect owns sarcnet, you know him ;D )

Sarcnet=the best. Before I had Spyware Shooter's website hosted by Prime/Sarcnet it would go down very frequently, at least once a week, sometimes for one week or more at a time. Since I've had spywareshooter.com hosted by sarcnet it's only been down once. Prime told me that I could host the unzipped version of SS (over 4MB in size) and there was unlimited space and unlimited bandwith as long as I kept it reasonable. That is, no huge movies or any of that crap. A big  goes to primesuspect and Sarcnet.com

Your site was down once? :wtf:
Hmmm...
Usually, that doesn't happen. I can give you a lot of referrals from this site, Ocomik :)

One time it went down for like an hour, that's it. I've also seen SM down a few times, but it VERY rarely happens. One downtime is a great compliment, dont' take it as an offence. Every site goes down sometime.

oh no offense taken. I'm just disappointed in myself.
As for short-media, we're running this on the very bleeding edge --> pure 64bit OS, drivers, software, etc. It's not a mature platform, and I wouldn't recommend it to just anybody yet. We are obligated to run this as a 64bit platform because of an agreement with AMD that we have. We only have one other customer that's running pure 64bit and they are having a few teething problems as well.
Don't get me wrong, once it's worked out, a 64bit database server just rips through queries. It is FAST.
My company also uses Sarcnet for our world of shelving websites. Not one second of downtime, amazing tech support, funny server names, the owner is kinda ugly though. Looks like Bunsen P. Honeydew.

Yep... Pretty damn ugly. Looks like a cross between a honeydew and a Shar-Pei. Ugly but smart. But still ugly. Kinda smells funny too. Like old cabbage.

Yep, the site is www.sarcnet.com. That's http://www.sarcnet.com, or if you prefer, http://sarcnet.com. Either will work if you want to get to www.sarcnet.com or sarcnet.com (http://sarcnet.com).
Shorty, the owner of www.sarcnet.com, he's a quite unhandsome fellow. Brian, I think his name is, that www.sarcnet.com owner.

THanks for the SEO efforts, but if you really want to make an impact, you need to talk about managed hosting (http://www.sarcnet.com). Managed hosting (http://www.sarcnet.com) as well as dedicated hosting (http://www.sarcnet.com), can really be beneficial to your organization. Especially if you are looking for michigan web hosting (http://www.sarcnet.com). ;)
Hosting (http://www.sarcnet.com) is a competitive business, so any little bit to get ahead can really help. Especially with managed hosting (http://www.sarcnet.com) :D

I can personally attest to the awesomeness of of Sarcnet (http://www.sarcnet.com) Some of the best websites on the internet (http://www.totalgeekmedia.com) are hosted by the friendly folks at sarcnet (http://www.sarcnet.com).
But seriously, great support and no bitching about going over bandwidth (it's happened before...check the S-M Bytes for a particular situation involving one of my websites and a slight over usage of bandwidth), I highly recommend them for all your hosting needs :)

You really do get around the science fiction genre quite a bit, don't you?

Not as much as I used to. Most of my reading these days seems to be on a 21" CRT. :vimp:
Robert A. Heinlein made a reference to one of my favorite (non-SF) books in one of his books. (http://zhurnal.net/ww/zw?ThreeManBoat) That's where the "to say nothing of the dog" comment originated. :mullet:
