I've been shopping for an HDTV for AGES now, and I finally got off my ass and made a purchase (since I told my roommates I'd buy the new set when we moved into the new place). I can't WAIT to see how good this Sony set (http://www.conns.com/new/show_product.php?isbn=3748) looks in my new apartment... I also can't wait for football season to start! NFL Sunday Ticket, wooooooooooo!

ooh I looked at that guy, decided against DLP due to the room it's going to be in. we'll have to compare notes, since mine gets here a week from saturday (gotta wait til move-in date  )

I think the most interesting one is this guy (http://www.ultimateelectronics.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=4248&itemType=PRODUCT&iProductID=4248) which has a 5-in-1 memory card reader, a hard drive, and a DIGITAL PHOTO PRINTER. WHY?!

Nice Telly yo!

If you have any gaming systems you might want to get the HD cables for them, because they make a huge difference.

Baron,

Enjoy man. Bought a Sony 51" projection HDTV a little over a year ago. Couldn't be happier with it. Just make sure you have lots of napkins around to catch the drool during your 1st 2 or 3 football games! ;D

I like it a lot. I had my heart set on a 40" samsung lcd but when wifey saw it she thought it was way too small (and it was $1000 more that the 56" dlp). So we took home a 3lcd sony 56" for a few days but when she saw that we couldn't fit it beyond the mantle and into the niche she called them back to have it returned.
Well since they don't make a 50" 3lcd yet I chose the samsung and frankly I'm more impressed with the features. It may be because I've spent more time in the manuals though.
At any rate those big screens rock no matter what you get.

no no no she told me not to buy the more expensive tv cause it wasn't big enough. lcd's cost more than plasma which is more than dlp.

I'm looking at getting a DLP once my job gets going in October. My only concern is that one of my friends got one and hers seems to have a curve to the picture when viewing cable. I couldn't get it to go away no matter what I did. I think she may have had basic cable though.
