View Full Version : SVT Team Help JiPd stricken by Aurora
Hello everyone,
I have been having trouble with Adware/Spyware, I dont know the difference to be honest. Anyways, my computer's been crashing randomly, Aurora, Rebate Retriever, and lots of pop ups (I dont know what's causing a lot of them) have been crippling my computer. I have ran both Spybot and Adaware within the last half hour, and I am still having problems. I ran a scan with Hijack this, and here is my log:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've heard a lot of good things, from a lot of people (that I know and trust) about this forum and the team, so I have faith in you. And Prime, I still havent tried that Black Currant, I'll let you know how it is in Sept.
Also what causes this stuff? A friend of mine blames it on IE and AOL, but I'm reluctant to believe that...

You have some entries there that need removing.

Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present:
Bullseye Networks
E2 Give
The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

Now, let's open a command prompt by going to the start menu and then select 'Run'.
In the box that pops up type in 'cmd'. The command prompt will open.
OR
You can go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt. Unregister the dll(s) we're going to remove, by entering the following:
regsvr32 /u IeBHOs.dll
regsvr32 /u cmappmf.dll
It's ok, if these aren't found or 'error' out. If you want, just copy and paste the individual lines to the command prompt to save typing them in.

Download DSRFIX from [b]HERE (http://www.atribune.org/downloads/dsrfix.zip) onto your Desktop.
Unzip and EXTRACT the files to your Desktop.
The program creates and names the new folder to house the files.
DO NOT RUN IT YET
Download Cleanup from Here (http://cleanup.stevengould.org/) (Alternate site if the above is not working Go Here (http://www.spywareaid.com/index.php?file=showsoftware&id=1))
A window will open and choose SAVE, then DESKTOP as the destination.
On your Desktop, click on Cleanup40.exe icon.
Then, click RUN and place a checkmark beside "I Agree"
Then click NEXT followed by START and OK.
A window will appear with many choices, keep all the defaults as set when the Slide Bar to the left is set to Standard Quality.
Click OK
DO NOT RUN IT YET
CLOSE INTERNET EXPLORER, if it is open
Open the folder dsrfix
Double click on the dsrfix batch file( the one with the little gear in it )
Once dsrfix has completed it will close on its own
Please restart HJT, put a checkmark next to the following items, and with all windows closed except for HJT, click “Fix Checked” and EXIT the program.

Run Cleanup
Click on the "Cleanup" button and let it run.
Once its done, close the program.
REBOOT your system.
Please restart HJT and post back a fresh HJT log for review.

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!
Sorry for taking so long to reply, I really appreciate all the help...before I post the log, just wanted to tell you about a few weird things that happened. While trying to delete C:\Program Files\EG2 - it wouldn't let me delete it because it was 'in use', so I tried deleting it in Safe Mode, but the file did not appear. Then once I restarted there was an icon on my desktop called 'thumbs'. It says its a system file, and opens with an unknown application...

Aurora's continuing to pop up, I don't know if I'm getting it from a website or what...also I can no longer download anything with 'Save Target As', says the interface is not supported. Some sites aren't loading, and strange characters are appearing on otherwebsites...I also can't load certain websites, I don't know if this is part of the process, or if I screwed up something, I hope you can help, anyways, here's the log for l2m fix, I forgot to post it in the other thread.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.
From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.
Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please run Ewido, and do a full scan. During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK.
Save the logfile from the scan. Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
