This is going to be interesting to say the least. Seeing as how most, no, all of hollywoods movies based on videogames have been. This is going to end up being a big pile of you know what.
Sadness.... (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/08/23/news_6131735.html)

I wouldn't mind seeing it... maybe it may be good. Who knows? I, myself, have been playing the original Halo for the past... well, since the LAN because I figured that we'd be playing it, but there was a misunderstaning. It was very sad for me when I went to the LAN and thought that we'd be playing it and Prime laughed and told me that noone was going to play it and...Euan- euan- oi- oi- oi! Anyway, it may be interesting to see a Halo movie. Even though the cinematics weren't that great for either of the Halo titles, maybe they will be good for a movie (seeing that it's one big cinematic).

As long as Uwe Boll has nothing to do with it, it might be decent....Alone in the Dark was so bad I can't even begin to do it enough injustice.

I played Halo 1 for 3 years and mastered it(on xbox). I couldn't be beat
I camped in line(the first one in line I may add :o ) and got Halo 2 the second it came out. I mastered it VERY shortly but lost interest just as quick. Cant beat the original.....
I think the movie will go to hell.
Well Doom (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419706/) is out soon
cane we say, mortal kombat?
I liked Mortal Combat. The sound track was sweet, It's still in my music rotation.
I really liked the first Halo book (Which was a prequel of the movie). If they make the movie from that book, it should be good.
The problem with most Videogame movies is that they actually try to depict the events of the game, which don't really translate well into a movie (although Half-Life might be an exception).
I really thingk if they got the developers to direct the movies, they would be fantastic. like HL, if sierra and valve were the directors, it would be fantastic from the gamers standpoint, but the frat guys would understand the subtle joys of a headcrab attack. the people making the mvoies now have to appeal to the larger ( non gamer ) crowed who dont know the 1st thing about the events in DOOM game, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. im sure halo will suffer the same butchury as other game to movie translations. put a hot chick in that gets 1/2 naked for no reason, make a love story into it, and a million huge explosions for no reason. instead of relying on good actors or a solid storyline they just substitute explosions and chicks, it pisses me off when they make a game into a movie and the only thing that simmilar is the title.
Halo movie:
Ringworld meets Aliens meets Space Odyssey.
