I just purchased a set of dual ocz gold pc4000 ram sticks
im wondering weather they will oc well as my motherboard only supplies 2.8v max and the ram is rated to 3.5v
so its basically upgrade the mobo or deal with non overclocking ram

It actually depends on which Gold 4000 you have. Is it the VX you have, you might have to use looser timings, such as cas 2.5,3,4,8 at 250 or so. If it is the Gold 4000 rev 2, 2.8 is plenty enough, but they won't do cas 2 at all.
Can you check which partnumber it is?

Apparently the ram has blue pcb and is rev1 it is currently in the mail so i dont know the exact part number
the blue pcb is kind of wierd considering all the other ive ever seen has used green pcb... O_o

It might be the VX then. Check the sticker on the memory when you get it. I'll know for sure then.
