View Full Version : Firefox crashing on two systems

As of yesterday, Firefox won't open on my laptop or the college newspaper's office machine. On both, the "Netscape Quality Feedback Agent" opens and the app itself crashes. Neither machine has Netscape installed.

Anyone know wtf is going on? Did an old version of Firefox expire or something and self-destruct? :wtf:

Both I and my sister have had problems with Firefox lately (v 1.0.7 and the previous version), but not what you describe. What worked for my sister and me was simply reinstalling. Give it a try if you haven't already. Just install over the top.

Corrupt Profile??? There have been some problems like this reported that are fixable by a new profile creation. Yes, the latest versions of Firefox have slightly different profiles than older versions (like 1.05 and earlier). Also, some Firefox extensions do NOT work with 1.07, so if someone used the version limit hack and used one of those incompatible extensions, that would do it. Most recent version of Firefox I know of is 1.08, also-- which has some glitch fixes that appeared with 1.07 and 1.06. Yes, Firefox does use the Netscape QFA.

My dad was having troubles with the new update and traced it to an incompatible extension. I also had him reinstall Firefox, as Leo suggested.

Switch to deerpark (the beta for the next release).
