Where in the world did that come from, anyway? That was a complete blowout! And we've lost the last few games, on top of it. I'm not a super hardcore football fan, but I do love the Packers.
HUZZAH
(it was really really dead in the store today... crazy how all of Wisconsin freaks out for the Pack :) )

The Bucks just blew it again this week. Shoulda had both games. At least Michigan lost again!

the problem with the Bucks really doesn't seem to be a talent problem, but a coaching one. If Tressel and his staff would learn to utilize the offensive weapons at his disposal (read: Troy Smith, Ted Ginn, Santonio Holmes) that team would be much better. Against Penn State, the Ohio State offense really showed no signs of life the entire game. Against Texas you were unable to take advantage of the fantastic field position our team kept giving you (however, the Texas defense seems to be really good at adapting to a certain style of play over the course of a game... I think the fact that you were switching QBs may have actually been beneficial)

As a still bitter that there was no pass interference at the end of the 2002 NC game and we got robbed Miami Hurricanes fan, I was ecstatic that Ohio State lost. I actually think I hate OSU more than Florida State. I think USC is vulnerable and really hope ND beats them this week. I think people are too scared of them and they're not as good as they were. Looks like unless UT blows it, they're in the title game.

I suppose Texas gets to win one every six years. It's only fair.
At least they beat us while we suck, and not one of the years we were actually good.

How is that pass interference? You don't see his right arm, and even if he is touching him, defenders touch receivers all the time, that's not forbidden. Yes he was touching the guy, I remember that, I'm not going to tell you he wasn't, but it was NOT pass interference. The fact that the ref had to think about it four or five seconds to throw the flag makes it all the more obvious. That whole OSU program is going to come down hard sooner or later, it's more corrupt than a Mafia convention. That ref will admit someday that some OSU booster paid him to throw the game. :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead

If he was paid off wouldn't he have thrown the flag immediately? Being a bought guy with a big wad of cash in his pocket, why would he even have to think about it?

You know, Miami has won a couple of National Championships. Why not think about that, rather than dwell on the one that got away?

Cause then it would've been super-obvious, especially with the bills hanging out of his pocket.
but yeah I don't really watch college football, I know some people that bet on the games regularly and my bro is always in some pool for it, but I don't watch too much football except I'll watch the Pats if I'm hanging around the house on sunday and of course I have to bandwagon even though I'm not a big football fan cause I'm from new england and well everybody knows the pats are awesome anyway.

The thing is, other teams really do try to keep the ball out of Ginn and Holmes hands. Well its kinda hard when both are on kick off returns but Ginn gets double coverage from a safety all the time. I know they showed it once in the penn state game where the safeties main responsibility was to know where Ginn was at all times. But yeah I do kinda agree that Ginn didnt get enough touches last weekend, esp in the open where he can miss a few tackles.
Plus OSU has this problem where they like to dance too freakin much. Ginn and Smith need to run down the sidelines instead of across. Again some more coaching issues.
But really, they could easily be 5-0 and #2 in the nation easily. If the touchdown pass was caught in the first game and the INT wasnt thrown in the Penn State game they would most likely be 5-0. Its kinda hard to argue against that. Those 2 plays made the difference in both games.

Very true, but that is why games are played on the field and not on (digital) paper

My canes could be 5-0 too if they either just make 2 field goals (I can't believe OUR kicker choked on field goals this time) or if they just punch it in from the 1 yard line :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:
Oh and Prof, because 5 NCs ain't enough ;D

Don't get me wrong, I'd like OSU to win the big 10, although it looks like Penn State might be a pretty large thorn in their side. Just hope they win out (you still have to play a few very good teams)

The guy had 2 chances to catch the ball where it was in his hands. By the time he got hit, his third try to catch the damn ball, he would have had his 2 steps and it wouldnt have mattered if he got hit and lost the ball. That pass had nothing really to do with the defense but rather he has butter fingers.
Oh yeah someone mentioned field goals, man I was driving home from a wedding that night when the annouceer said that FG attempt when in at end of the Texas game from 50 yards out. Then they corrected and said he missed it by like a foot. Another chance lost totally on our own terms.
Hehe, I bet you want OSU to win out. That would have been great for a #2 team to beat a #3 team. That would be some killer BCS points right there in the schedule rank.
As far as other Texes games, I dont know how many get aired here in Columbus. Of course OSU does and about all the other games are Big 10 or some other reginal games.

Hey prof all i care about is the freakin redsox not being there anymore! Yes my yanks got beat but maybe they will roll back thier payroll and buy talent not big bats
all i know is that the bears need to get their act together. not to mention the flimsy grossman, but now i hear thomas jones is out with a knee injury---and that's after 3 consecutive 100+ yard rushing performances. at least we'll be able to see what cederic benson can do--that is besides holding out.
it might be a long shot but the bears could still win their weak-ass division. green bay might have beat the snot out of NO, but i don't think they will go anywhere. chicago has a very good defense, but the problem is that we need the defense to win games for us. it's not a good thing when you need your defense to put up points b/c of your offense's ineptness.
as far as college....i think ND will beat USC. not sure of the other matchups though--haven't looked at the schedule yet...

I think we're going to have a good year despite the loss this weekend (it was real close anyway). Gibbs=Good
