HI guys Im a jr. and I am getting a little head start on colleges. I plan to do Computer Science/Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Those are my main 3 I am focusing on but I dont have a clue to which colleges are good in those fields. I went to Findtuition.com and did that search. I found 21 of them.
I Live in MASS and want to stay in a 300 mile radius. If you guys could, can you give me some of your thoughts for colleges around my area. Thanks ALl!

the best set of rankings is the one that US News and World Report puts out every year, which you can find here (http://www.usnews.com/usnews/rankguide/rghome.htm). you have to pay to get the full list, but its only like $10 or something so its definitely worth it. What you should do is make a list of which colleges you're interested in, then make a seperate list that ranks them by total cost, and another list that ranks them by what you think is a reach or not (your odds of getting in). Then compare, talk to your school councellors, and apply

thanks!
Visit colleges, find out what is financially 'do-able' for you, and start looking around for some scholarship opportunities. It's extremely important that by the beginning of your senior year you have a list of three or four colleges you intend to apply to and have them done by October 31st, if you do them earlier, say in September, that's even better.

Become best friends with your college counselor at school, the more you help them, the more they'll help you. I was lucky and had a woman that literally bent over backwards for all of us if we asked for it. All it took was a little choc-o-late in return.
Penn State has a very nice electrical engineering/computer engineering school. They are known for their engineering programs, but it can be expensive. If you have the money and a decent GPA and SAT score (3.6-3.8 minimum GPA, and a 1100-1200 minimum SAT) it is a very nice school. Well im probably making it sound harder to get into then it actually is, but it is a great school
3 of my cousins went there and all got great jobs strait out of college due to a co-op working program during school. Their Sophmore, Junior, and Senior year of school they worked with different companies related to their major earning credits, and making a decent amount of money. Now they are all employed with the company who they worked for during school, and started out making around $70k a year. 2 of them majored in computer engineering, and 1 in mechanical engineering. Right now I am in the process of applying to colleges, and i have already been accepted to Ohio U and WVU, and im still applying to FSU and Penn State.

My counselor is a guy that sort of hits on girls and is EXTREMELY BAD. My brothers and many many others from our school almost got screwed over because of him.

well that just means your going to have to look around and do a bit more work, but when the time comes youll be prepared more than everyone else and it won't be such a pain.
