Finished my loft. [Archive]

I finally finished my loft. It's taken some time as I only worked on it when I had a week off work, not something to start after work! Since I was made redundant at the end of July I've had plenty of time on it. It is to be used as Daughters new bedroom and she started moving in within a hour of the carpet being fitted :D . It has Four double electrical sockets, two radiators, a mains wired linked smoke detector and a fire door at the bottom of the stairs (which isn't shown) and two windows, one of which is an escape window. I am very pleased with the result so thought I'd go in to show off mode and post some pics. The first lot are after the boiler was moved and the stairs and floor were put in, also a large brick chimney was taken out.

Great job :) looks very good. Now you have to padlock the door at the bottom of the stairs.

I did all the plumbing and electrics and around 70% of the building work, Bro in law did the floor and some boarding. I got a plasterer in and wife and daughter did most of the painting.

That's a dream room for a young person. It would make dandy home office as well. (So, you'll take it as an office when the kids hop out of the nest, right? :D )

I'm glad my daughter is all grown up and on her own. If not, I'd never hear the end of it until I broke out the drywall tools and got to work. :D
