Possible bad ram?

My computer keeps restarting... It will be working normally, then just restart itself, and sometimes just keep restarting before actually booting to windows. It's just unstable and unpredictable.

I hear this is a sign of bad ram, and I want to test mine, but I'm afraid I'm not too computer savvy. The program from www.memtest86.com is downloaded, but it is giving me some trouble in creating a boot disc.

Anyone who can either explain how to do this better, suggest a new program, or give me another suggestion for something to test?
