Help! My NEC Laptop is SOO Noisy!

I have a Japanese LaVie U Series laptop that is making a very annoying sound between a purring a a grinding. It is a few years old and may be packed full of dust. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this sound and once again use my pc in peace?

when you say its making alot of noise, does it seem like the fan is really loud, or is it something else.

Im sure you can find a guide to taking it apart, but if you dont feel comfortable doing it, just find a friend do it or even take it to a store to have it checked out.

btw what model number/year is it, ill see if i can find anything.

It is a model LU45L/3. Yes, it does sound like the fan, but I'm not sure. I'm going to take it apart tonight and giver it a peek.
