View Full Version : Need help with Amd Proc

My friend gave me this amd proc. and i dont know which kind it is i was wondering if anyone can help. It has no stepping numbers on it. the only numbers that are on it are 27016 and the L1-L7 numbers. Its kinda purple. And i know its atleast a couple years old.

Does it look like this?

The speed is the numbers between the "A"s written on the core directly beneath where it says AMD Athalon. For example, if it says A1400A like it does in the picture it is a 1400 MHz or 1.4GHz core. The last letter (B or C) will tell you the FSBwhere B means 100MHz, 200MHz effective and C means 133MHz, 266MHz effective.

The L1, L7 or any Lx number are not used to identify the CPU.

Yeah I would say its an Original Athlon or Duron way back in early socket A.

alright thank you it is a 1000mhz core, there was artic silver on the core so i didnt know there was numbers on it :P.
