Hey, I was just wondering what would happen in the following situation...
Let's say I a buy a Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro. Unlock all 16 piplines, flash the bios, and whatnot. Effectively turning it into a Radeon X800 XL. According to many benchmarks, an overclocked X800 XL scores about 6000-6200 points in 3Dmark05. Not bad for a 200 dollar card.
Now, let's say later down the road I wanna go dual-video card. So, I want to purchase an ATI Radeon X800 XL Crossfire Edition. Now, my question is, will such a configuration work? Will the real X800 XL recognize the unlocked/flashed X800 Pro? Also, what performance can I expect? Thanks in advance.
