Too many processes???

Hi,

All of a sudden my son's computer has several more processes running. I have Ad-aware running and use the ewido scanner, with both telling me I'm clean, but several processes (like stsystra.exe) look suspect.

Can someone please take a quick look at my hijackthis log and let me know if I have problems?

stsystra.exe is legit and not harmful.

How many processes do you have running? I have 71...yes, 71 processes but that comes fom 4 user accounts ;D

Your HJT log is clean too.

Thanks for the quick reply.

No, I'm not really having any specific problems, I guess am just so paranoid after having the AIM beach virus on another of my computers (you fixed that one for me a few weeks back) that I thought maybe I had problems on this computer too.

There are around 53 process running on my son's new Dell when it starts up and that seemed like a lot, so I thought I may have problems.

Yeah, I remember helping you with the the AIM virus :)


Don't be concerned about the processes too much. You can disable items on startup if you want, this MAY help. Go to Start > Run > Type msconfig and click the startup tab. Uncheck what you don't need BUT keep your Anti-Virus and other apps you may want such as MSN messenger etc checked. Reboot your computer.
