Multiple Video cards

Hey - I want to run my output into a projector and a monitor. I just purchased a high end video card, and in my experience when you install multiple video cards for this purpose, the weaker one seems to be dominant. So when I go to play a game, it seems to use the lesser card and thus has trouble with some games. Is there a way to fix this? Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it is?

This may be a stupid question, but can someone answer me plz.

What cards do you have? Most modern graphics cards can drive more than one display at the same time so you don't need a second card unless you're driving 4 displays.
