Today, I headed over to http://www.opera.com to see if their browser was still free and luckly they were. So, I decided to download it, as a recommendation from someone.
At the moment opera feels like a nice browser and i'l probably be using it far more then Firefox.
As the title asks, what browser is everyone currently using and why?

Firefox. I started using Firefox for security and popup blocking, but got crazy hooked on tabbed browsing. Couldn't do without it. I think IE has made major strides in security, but I won't even consider IE without tabbed browsing. One advantage IE has over Firefox is rendering. There are many times I have to refresh pages in Firefox to get text to display properly.

Firebird, than FireFox. Why...?
- Tabbed Browsing that works out of the box
- Browser that supports correct web coding standards (CSS, CSS2, xHTML) and doesn't try to "fudge" a layout. IE makes web developers lazy
- ActiveX is just wrong for webpages. That should stayed with VB6 and not copied to web
Now before the IE theorists kick sand into my face, I have nothing against Microsoft or IE but I simply prefer FireFox for the above reasons ;)

Firefox is my browser of choice. Unfortunately I'm stuck with IE at work - dang 'corporate security'! There's just something to be said for the ability to middle-click a link and have it open in a new tab... at work I have to try to limit myself to 2 explorer instances, otherwise it looks like I'm goofing off and not doing my job. If I had Firefox I could have 8 tabs open and it would still look like I was diong my job! ;D
IE at both home and work. It's worked fine for me, no major issues with popups, I'm careful what I browse, so no problems with spyware.

FF, tabs are slick, better than having 25 windows open.
It is more robust than IE was a couple of years ago. I don't have to keep fixing it when my family breaks things.
There are only two of us at work running FF, me and our head of IT.

That's the other thing - from a support standpoint, I am constantly running into customer spyware infected or trojan infected messes that require me to edit some IE registry key or do some commands to repair IE or jump through some kind of hoop to get IE "fixed". I can truthfully say that I've never had to edit a mozilla-related registry key just to restore internet access, or to get the browser to work again.

The registry - another thing I hate :shakehead

Firefox most of the time - it's the only browser I bothered to install on my latest linux install.
IE when I'm on my desktop and want to watch launch videos or listen to my launch radio station.
IE, because it works for every site and all the plugins work...
IE It works fine for me, and as DanG said if you are carefull where you browse you will get no issues.........
I've only recently started using Firefox. Won't use anything else now.
Tried Opera when they released the Free version a few months back, but couldn't get used to the feel of it.
Only problem I have with Firefox is the fact that not all sites accept it and am forced to switch to IE for those :(

It took ages for me to finally make the switch, but Firefox for me since last Summer.
As others have mentioned, security, tabs, and extensions are the reason I stuck with it. I even got my dad hooked on it. :D

And for u my friend Winga there is a plugin called IE Tabs Here (https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1419)

LIke prof it took me forever to switch. I thought it was just a fad. But then I got MyIE2, and loved it. Then I tried Opera and hated it. Stuck with Firefox :)
The only complaint I have is the (relatively) high memory usage. 64 megs for 2 tabs isn't fair :-/

Firefox
-Love the plugins
-Much faster than IE
-MUCH more secure, ActiveX blocking
-Very effective (effective ;D) popup blocker
-Search Engine module is probably my favorite feature

had MyIE2, now Maxthon for a long time, then it just started crashing alot, so I was using IE. Now that I've done a format c:\ its been Firefox since, altho my wife still uses Maxthon with no problems so I recommend both, FF and Maxthon.

I tried Maxthon and another similar one and liked them until they started freezing up a lot :(

I use Opera, and have for a couple years now. Works fine for me, so I'll stick with it. I've tried Firefox, but I'm just more familiar with Opera.

Firefox for about 90% of the time. For the reasons already mentioned above.
I have Opera also installed, but I guess I'm just used to the way Firefox runs. ;D

Firefox. Firefox is a more secure browser than IE. When Holes are found they are fixed much quicker than anything that has the MS name on it.

Never understood why people would want to use Opera when it either requires them to pay for it or displays adverts.

I guess you haven't been following the news. Opera is free to download and advert free and has been for a few months now.

Oh, I thought it was only free for 1 month or so then they went back to charging for it. But anyway, previous to that, why would people have used it then?

Maybe they liked it. ;D

Firefox for all the already mentioned reasons. Its fast, light weight and if it crashes it does not take the whole system with it. Add to that now MS has released the Genuine advantage checker as a pluggin for Firefox, I no longer have to use IE for anything but MSDN.
Thanks for the link sectorz. The plugin has been installed

Same thing here :(
Although I NEED alot of webpages open to do my job, so it's really a pain using IE instead of Firefox, with 8+ instances open it's annoying switching between them and I need a really thick taskbar to display them as well...

I switched to Firefox about a year ago, because of the talk here at Short-Media. It just seems faster. Better security, and all those extensions

I've been using Opera lately the last few days now and I am finding it to be a pretty nice browser, at least as good as Firefox. Plus, it seems to me at least to be even snappier and more responsive than Firefox and I definitely get better download speeds with it on my sat broadband connection than either Firefox or IE.
It's definitely worth trying out, since it's now free.
