Which card would perform better? 2x6800gs in sli or 1x7800 gt?

2x 6800GT's in SLI are far worse than 1x7800gt

Actually, they're pretty close (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2005/09/29/leadtek_px7800gt/8.html). Given the price of SLI, however, I'd definitely go with the 7800GT.

I can buy the 7800gt Extreme which is £253 or 2x6800gs (not GT) for £300 so i would spend the extra £50, but only if the performance is a lot better than a 7800gt. Anyone have any idea?
