I have had Windows XP Pro on my computer since I built it 2 1/2 years ago. Last month I started getting the Blue Screen Saying Stop Error 0X0000007F.
I have not changed any hardware since I built it except a ram stick (the one I had went bad, it was under warrenty so they sent me the same exact one I had had before). The only change I have done which was right about the time I started to get the error was changing my ISP from Cable to DSL. I tried reinstalling Windows and that has not made any difference.

From what I have read this eroor is cause from too many kernals trying to run at once. I'm not sure how this suddenly has become a problem when there was none before. Is there a way to make windows just allow more to run, my computer is very capable of handling it? If not how can I fix this? It is quite irritating to be doing something and have the computer just crash so I loose everything.

Here's my system specs in case that is important:
Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz (800 FSB) Hyper-threading enabled
512 mb DDR400 Crucial Ram
ATI Raedon 9200 VIVO AGP with 128 mb DDR Video Ram
160 GB Western Digital Master Drive
160 GB Maxtor Slave Drive
Panasonic DVD-Ram Drive
Lite-On CD-RW Drive
Creative Sound Blaster Audiology Sound Card
Onboard Ethernet
PCI 54K Modem

Extras:
HP Deskjet 932C
HP Photosmart 7700
Belkin Wireless G Router (not using Wireless at this time)
Visioneer 7200 USB Scanner
HP 618 Digital Camera

Look into this from M$'s website, KB Article #137539
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=137539&sd=RMVP

See which shoe fits best...

Many times the error is hardware related.

Run MEMTEST (http://www.memtest.org/)

(Download the iso and burn it or download the floppy version. Run it for at least a few hours...)

If no errors are found, come on back and we can think about the next step...

Ok, I figured it out and now it's been 3 days without a single crash. It wasn't a hardware problem at all. When I have remote desktop and system restore enabled on my computer it crashes, when they are disabled there are no crashes. Thanks for all the suggestions.
