can anyone tell me the difference between the nvidia raid controller and the Sil3114 raid controller :scratch:

The Nvidia controller is built in on the mainboards chipset itself while the Silicon controller is on a PCI bus. That generally implements a bit latency and therefore make the performance a tad slower. Hardly noticeable though. However, most people will say that the Nvidia controller is a bit more stable and i agree on that. I guess you have a Nforce 3 or 4 mainboard?
