Hence the "Children of the 80s" reference.
WTF? My reply to you came before your message!
Man, I totally spent hours playing around one with one of those at my friend's house back in the early 90s.

Yes I know i saw it...
And yes - I've seen that happening a LOT in the past month or so on this forum. It's very.. very.. weird

I still have mine (and all 12 tapes) in mint condition. I put many, many hours into that 4-track tape deck known as the 2-XL. :D
EDIT: Actually I have the post 1992 model of the toy, but it's the exact same idea, only it used cassette tapes.

wow...I remember....I never was able to fanaggle one of these but it is perhaps credited to what sanity I still have, you see back when "mervins" used to have a toy dept I used to hide out there and spend hours with this thing (after completely scouring their star wars toys for new finds of course  ) while my mother (who did'nt drive) spent what seemed like weeks looking at shoes and scarfs and the like.
I do feel a little sorry for the counter person this was set up within 3 ft of though.
as i recall it had a rather annoying voice.

Never seen one of those, but its pretty ugly.
My family was poor back then though, and that toy looks like it was bleeding edge tech back then, which pretty much barred me from getting one.
Neat presentation on the site though.

that is an interesting machine. Took me a good half hour to figure out how to get the stupid thing running tho (im talking bout the website version)
lol
Yea, in real life it was a lot easier to get it to run. The only disadvantage was the .1% chance that yours would go on a killing rampage...
That part is not accuratly represented in the flash version

My daughter was born in 1985 and I thought she had every toy there ever was. Guess I missed one. :mullet:

Okay, maybe it's more relevant for children of the late 70s/early 80s. For those of us in our mid to late 30s.
