My main work rig has been saying this since yesterday afternoon! should I just wait it out? or how do I get these bad boys to look for a new server?

about six weeks ago I was getting this for days at a time.
Not only cost me folding time, but had some wu's that would't send.
I have no idea what the problem was.

Can you manually ping Stanford? Connection OK?

yes I can ping them, and all my other servers are chugging away as far as I can tell!

Have you stopped the clients and given the machine a reboot? I've had to do that before on my Win XP rigs. No idea why, but sometimes my network connections get fubarred and that is the only thing that seems to fix the problem for me. Is it a wireless connection? If you don't want to reboot, perhaps try stopping the clients and repairing the wireless network connection. That flushes the DNS cache, etc. and that can do the trick sometimes.

I had the same problem Sledge.. I'm pretty sure the issue is on Stanford's end.. I'm sure they will have it sorted out quickly..
