I got home yesterday and found a package with my name on it and certainly was not expecting one. Then I noticed it was from my ex-wife and pondered. It was full of pictures and mementos of my daughter Heather. There was even a plate she had made years ago with Heather's hand print and a mask made from her face about a year prior to........ So I now have Heather's hand print from when she was 4 yrs old and a ceramic likeness of her face as a teen. Then there are all the pictures that I had been asking for over the past 2 1/2 years. I cried for hours as I looked through the contents of the box. What a surprise! What a great gift that I would have never expected. I will try to get pics of the plate and facial likeness over the weekend.

That is great Larry. Be sure to send your ex a very nice thank you card. I know that this means a whole lot to you; I know that it would to me if I was in your position.

I'm only guessing the story behind all this, so I won't pretend to know. But I do know what a wonderful gift a daughter is. Wow.

Merry Christmas.

I didn't make it home for Christmas this year, and was feeling kind of down about it.

Reading this made up for everything - what a great gift! :)

Thank you everyone!

As you can tell, I havent taken the pics I was going to post yet. I spent Christmas day cleaning bird cages. But I guess that was my present to them. I did however manage to find the time to call my ex and thank her for the wonderful gift. ;)

Larry, The posts and story about your loss at Icrontic and the obvious compassion of the members there was the reason I joined Icrontic. IOW I remember your loss/ those posts quite well and it warms my heart to know you got that special gift from your ex. Thanks for sharing that!!!

OK I finally got the pics I promised. The handprint is from when she was 4 yrs old and the facial impression she was 14. I am also posting her last portrait again as all the old ones have been pruned from the servers.

You've made my day as well, Larry. I'm out here on the rig in the fog, feeling kind of down in the dumps since I've been out here from before Christmas and then you posted those wonderful pictures of some of the gifts your ex sent you. Thank you, man.
