safley remove hardware icon?

hey guys;
this is my first system with a sata drive, i got the xp "safely remove hardware" icon running down in the sys tray.
Anyone know how to get rid of that icon???

Did a search on the net for it and fond some softwar that does it, but im not gonna pay for it

Since SATA drives are technically plug and play, there is no good way to get rid of it that I know of. I had it the entire time I was running my system with only a SATA drive - I never used it, but I'm sure something would have borked if I had stopped the hardware while my OS was running on it! ;D
