I used to use Partiton Magic, but lately it is being completely retarded and wont let me do anything to my drive as it says "Bad system filename (file 9)" and aborts. The on-line help is of no use as all it says to do is run the OS's own disk checker (which finds nothing even when doing a 5 part check).

So, I need something else, as I want to get Slackware back on this machine, but it isnt happening because of this.

Cheers,

Right, that program is officially completely useless.

You do something, it says it needs to reboot to do it, and you just boot stright back into Windows and it doesnt actually do anything.

Anyone know any others?

I dunno dude, I've been using Paragon for ages, great piece of software. Going by what you said about Parition Magic in your original post, I think it would fair to say your system seems to be the thing causing you trouble, not the partition software applications.

The problem with Paragon seems completely unrelated to the one with Partition Manager........

Either way I'm screwed unless I format, which I am not going to do.

This sucks.
As Usual.
