I just installed a Linksys PCI Adapter Model #WMP54GC version 1.1(which I updated to the newest one1.4) on my hp Pavilion a210e with Windows XP SP2. I was just told there might be a compatibility problem between the two and it seems that way. In the wireless network connection window it says "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection" and when the wireless icon shows that I have a connection no internet pages will show up. Do I need to downgrade to SP1 and if so, how do I do that. Whenever I try it tells me I can't because a newer version is installed. Please help. Thanks in advance for all help.

I have one of these - http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=6993&GroupID=1072 - on my Sons PC, XP Pro SP2. It has worked from the start without a hitch. We also have a wireless gaming adapter for a PS2 and two wired PCs.

disable windows wireless zero configuration service then install the software and drivers that come with the linksys card.

I forgot to mention that it is running through verizon's Westell 327W router. Also when I disabled Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration utility the linksys window showed that I was connected to the wireless system, but when I tried to open a web page it still said not available.
