I have a run of the mill Emachine T6212. Recently, I had to reinstall Windows XP.
My hard drive before the reinstall was C, now it is I.

On startup, I get the following message: Please insert disk into removable drive C.There is no drive C. If I press Cancel or Continue the message disappears. It is just an annoyance, the system runs fine otherwise.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of this phantom start up message.

Thanks,
Alan

If you have ever opend the computer, the IDE cables inside may be routed improperly, or it could be the way the harddisk is partiotioned that is causing the system to be confused
