Have I Maxed out my PSU?

my machine has recently been going ape ****, BSOD and the whole nine yards.
so i formatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows and its even worse, BAD_POOL_CALLER as soon as i start windows. IRQL_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL somthing about a processes thread not proceesing correctly, an ADF.SYS BSOD, some times it will freeze after detecting hard drives, some times freeze after detecting my raid array. all sorts of crazy stuff. is it possible i have reached the limits of the 530Watt PSU

i have a:

X2 4200+
1 gig of ram
1 dvd burner
1 6800gt
1 areca 1230 raid card
6 hard drives

is that too much? i took out the raid card and the 5 drives on it and the machine has SEEMED to settle down a little, but ive never seen this kind of stuff before. and its only started to happen fairly recently maybe in the last month.

That PSU has two 18A 12V+ rails (Armo, I'm sure you already know this, the info is for the benefit of others).

Did you balance the load evenly between them?

i tlooks like a tornado connected my PC together, i cant really remember, after i uninstalled crappy java, and did i bios load failsafe it seems to be alot more stable
