To capitalize on the interest generated by the Olympics, some Curling clubs are holding "Open House" events around this time, so I researched it and found one online about an hour away from here in Wayland Massachusettes so me and my buddy Linc decided we would go check it out.
We got there early which was lucky cause I didn't think a lot of people would show up but we were in the first group, so by the time we were done and getting information about different events they were actually asking people who were all set to head out cause the building had reached capacity and they had a line going outside.
Anyway, they showed us how to deliver a curling stone and they showed some other groups how to sweep, the group I was in didnt do that because we spent more time on delivering techniques and we each got to try it twice. It was fun but unfortunately very short because there was such a huge crowd waiting to try it out.
So, we signed up for a curling "mini league" that has all beginners in it and they will give us more indepth instruction and for the next 3 friday nights we'll get to go there , get instruction and play a full game which they said will last like 2-3hrs and it was $50 to sign up, so I cant wait and it looks like it will be a lot of fun.
Here's some pics from the event, there was a lot going on so I couldnt take really good photos but I got a couple decent ones in there
