View Full Version : How much for a Compaq Presario
I know this sounds sort of dumb but how much do you guys think i can get for a Compaq Presario (think it's a 5000WT or something) thats about 4 yrs old with a 20 GB HDD?

Thinkin it's a P3. No one who would know the first thing about computers would really buy it though would they? I'm thinking only beginners who are learning to turn on a computer would go for it. P3, 20 GB HDD, 128 MB Mem, Modem, and everything else that was there at the time is included. I haven't formatted the drive yet but when I find someone to buy it, I will. I don't think you would, but if anyone wants any of the parts, I'm willing to take it apart and sell them as long as I get someone to buy all the parts. O and it's a 21'' Monitor I think, with a wirelesss keyboard and a wired mouse.

I sell computers from that era for $100 each with no OS installed. If they want Windows, then the cost of Windows is added in.
i'd say you could probably sell it for 50 bucks.
unless it was one of the later P3s that run @ around 1ghz some people really love playing with those processors

Scar, I moved your thread. It's a fully legitmate question and topic, but it just doesn't belong in the Deal Depot and Trading Post unless/and until you are going to sell it there.
I hope that you find a marketable price and are able to sell your Presario.

haha its some generic brand. It's RF wireless. If you wat it, Il'll give it to you with the keyboard, wireless mousr, and reciever thingy for $25. I love the keyboard doesnt give me any problems, but the mouse, being optical wireless eats a lot of batteries. THe keyboard will last 2-3 mnths on one set of AAA batteries, while the mouse lasts only about 2 wks. You can always just use the keyboard and some other mouse though, like I did.

I would but like I already mentioned, My parents would kill me for not getting SOME money back for the new system I just built, and I have no internet connnection to it. So if any of you want to buy it or something to put it to use folding or whatever let me know. And if not, at least tell me how much I could get for it from someone who doesnt really know much about computers.

Take it easy Scar. The way you worded your post DID make it sound like you were considering ripping someone off. OK, if you didn't mean that, but it sure sounded that way.

sry leo its just everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong that day...
Here's the list
1) Counter-Strike wouldn't connect to any servers untill I restarted it.
2) Once it connected, It would keep shutting off for random reasons.
3) Comcast Happened
4) I just noticed that the floppy drive on my new system doesnt work. It probably didn't work from the day I put it together, but I didn't have use of it till now and I needed it for school but hey what the heck, it decided to take a day off.
5) Comcast Customer Service Happened
6) Put me on hold then disconnected
7) Called again; Told me they would connect me to the "business" department.
8) Some guy in Asia named "J-E-R-E-M-A-I-H" (haha ya right, I'm Indian and I know they don;t have names like that.) told me to power cycle the router.
I told him I'd done that already.
9) After a few hours, Comcast started to give me the amazing speed of like 4 kb/s.
10) Finally, when everything was back to normal (except the floppy drive, Anyone got any tips on what could be worng?!?) I tried to get on SM and it was slow. I was mad because my day was a bunch of bull****.
