Forgive the bumpage of an older thread... but it seemed appropriate versus creating a new one. =)

Hard to believe it's been a year since I was last @ SM. To those who have sent me PM's over the last year... my appologies for not getting back sooner =).

All goes well on this end. Finished a 14-month stint on WoW, but invariably all good things must come to an end. The FX-55 continues to churn away!

Finally relocated permenantly back to the Ottawa, Ontario region and am currently pounding away at finishing up my education (university & college concurrently is very demanding). (www.bitdegree.ca).

The last little while has seen some impressive highlights! LanMania, QuakeCon 2005, a trip to Walnut Creek, CA to the Maxis studios (*cough @ EA*), CeBit 2006 (finally my chance to visit Germany) and short stints at Northern Telecom, EDS Canada, Cisco & RIM for co-operative education placements.

Special mention to GooD for his article on the 60-ft tower (is that Storm Hi-Speed)? Seeing Short-Media in the National Post and on /. was a sight to behold. =)

Life is busy, but good!

Not bad, but my favorite was the announcer in Q3:Team Arena. When someone frags you when you're inches from returning a captured flag, the announcer goes HOLY ****! I had a clanmate that was evil with the railgun, so I heard that way too often. :shakehead

I hate games like that where the announcer screams really loud. I will admit that I'm somewhat of a graphics whore and I dont really like playing older games because they dont hold my attention very easily, so I havent played the older quakes much and have no clue what that announcer sounds like. Take an alright game (cs 1.6), make it look pretty (cs source), and you have my attention. I dont care if the game is virtual dinner where you feed yourself with a knife and fork, if it looks life-like, I'm gonna be playing. The moral of the story is if dinner looks good, I'll play with it!

Just kidding, if the game is good, I'll play it. Hell, I play games on my calculator all the time. Also is graphics whore a commonly used word? I dont know it sounded cool, I kinda stole it from halo where people who hogged the rockets were called rocket whores. I guess its used in alot of other games too.
