I have been really bothered lately as the AIM Bots seem to have gotten an upgrade! "Little bastards" They login online under a name that is close to one on your friends list and they send a message with "Hey what's up" or "Hey *your username" you know pretty much things your buddies say or do when they contact you online.

So I just wanted to post a warning as they are getting desperate these days!

You could have AIM set up to only accept messages from people on your buddy list and this will never happen... Just a thought!!

I've never been contacted by an AIM spam bot. I wonder if it's cause I use Trillian?

I haven't signed on to an Instant Messaging client in years. In that time, I have never been contacted by a spam bot. I've also found that I am much more efficient with my time on the PC now as well.

I am connected to IM (usually aim, msn & icq through trillian) pretty much 24/7 and never get any spam msgs.
