I don't know much about RAID but should'nt RAID 0 be AID 0 unless it was RAID 0+1 because without the +1 it's not redundant right?

That's why it's RAID level 0, because it offers 0 redundancy :D

I thought it was a great question! The answer was new to me as well. So here's another question: Why is the primary hard drive in a multi-drive systems usually referred to as "Hard Disk 0", and the second hard drive as "1".

Binary. They're not going to be labelled 1 and 2 because to represent 2 in binary you need an extra digit (10) so you label them 0 and 1.
