I need an excuse.
I am sure that I need to make a business trip that week.......
I can't play, but I sure can heckle.....
Count me in.... You need anything, Prime? re-roof? Plumbing? More electric? I want to make sure I bring tools this time. That brass screw driver from 16th century was nice but not what I would call the best for circuit panel work!!! :D
I am planning on doing a SM lan for quebec members at the same time...
...
...
...
Ok i guest im the only one invited hahah :Pwned:
;D
I would like to be at SM lan one day, but it seems like i will have to tell wish you a good lan party for a couple of years  lol

21 Mar 2006, 8:20pm
That's right, Kevin, you've done enough damage with your tower article that you're getting a spot of honor at the LAN.
Kevin... They mean it.... it won't be the first time that Prime has driven long distances to kidnap guys.... what a minute that didn't come out right.... Better not mention mantouch.... darn it... I just did mention it.... glad I didn't say "snuffie".... OK... I'll shut up.
But really... You are coming Kevin.
Hahahaha :o
You will forget about it when you'll see how many times it would takes to ride to my house and kidnap me, but the idea makes me laugh ;D
Well i don't know how many hours it would take for me to get there... It must be > 8 hours or so :(
Plus my LIAN-LI 2000 is not very moveable lol (its hugeee) hah

Ask mondi who has flown THOUSANDS of miles to come here multiple times....
Ask Black Hawk who was flown up from Puerto Rico
Ask CitrixMeta and Septimus who drove from Montreal
Ask Clutch and Egoshowcase who drove here almost NON STOP from North Carolina (17 hours)
Ask Keebler, to whom I said last week: "Come by this weekend"... and he did (twelve hour drive)
Distance? Cost? Lian Li? These things matter not..... :ninja:

OMG, stick that reply please ;D This is (IMO) your best reply ever prime haha
Nah no kidding, I appreciate your offer prime, really ;) but you realy think i would let you drive to my house, then to the lan, then to my house again, without saying anything ? haha
If i have to go one day i'll go on my own. I don't want to ask for something i would not do for others :buck: Like i wont let you lose 24 hours on the road for me prime :P I know you can do it but i can't accept it, well not for a SM LAN. :p I don't think i will find it fun to do more than 5 hours in a car either lol
This would be fun if i could be there tho, well maybe not cuz you would laugh at me everytime i speak but i could deal with it i guest haha
EDIT : or i could kill you in a game if you're not funny at all :p
Im sure one day i'll be motivated enough to make the move to the LAN. In a car or in a plane :p
Too bad for you guys, you will not hear my sexy frenchie/english voice this year hah
Who said anything about driving? You guys have planes and trains up there?

I will not be making it this year. I've got 2 wedding to go to the week after the LAN, one in Cali. Spending a buttload of money and the LAN is just one more expense I cannot afford right now. Well, no big loss, seeing how I'm 0-fer-2 so far. Why break my perfect streak now?

I probably won't make it to the lan this year, didn't realise that was when mmonnin and norge were graduating. I imagine I'll be out in columbus that weekend. If there is another little get together one weekend over the summer hollar and I'll be up without my computer. I'll just bring up some beer and burgers and I'll be good to go.

Quick Q: a. Prime, do most people crash in the back or get a hotel room?
b. best way to get computer across country?

Hey Jared! :)
Hook up with Drasnor, he's coming from your area. Most people crash here, last year I think only one person got a hotel room.
Best way? Ship the computer unless you're carpooling. We can supply monitors.

The only other table game I've played is Warhammer 40k. If you play that, in addition to Settlers, we might just get Buddy Jesus to come up.

I'm excited about it, it's just that the plane ticket is mighty expensive, and I still have to figure out how to get my computer there.
If the event may be cancelled, though, I've got to hold off on actually buying a plane ticket until it's definite. Plus, I'll have to see how much vacation I'll have by that time.

I revised the first post (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showpost.php?p=369720&postcount=1) to highlight some of the prizes.
We have so many prizes, there's a good chance that EVERYBODY will win SOMETHING. And there's nothing crappy here this year. We're still working on more prize giveaways.
Prize summary so far:
11 Logitech G7 Gaming Mice (The NEW style, not the original ones)
1 Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard
5 copies of Battle for Middle Earth 2 from EA Games.
A Logitech 2.1 Speaker System (Thanks to EA Games as well)
an XBOX 360 (Core system)
2 nVidia 7800GT PCI-E video cards
Our usual prize of "give away the server" - this year's server is a Dell Precision 340 Workstation (p4 1.8ghz + 1gb of ECC RDRAM)

Every year there are a huge number of people who spend the weeks (or even months) after the LAN in misery because they didn't come and they have to listen to all the great stories being told by those who were there. Invariably, they vow that "next year I'll make it - no matter what."
Next year is here, folks! :woowoo:
And it'll be even worse after this year, when you have to listen to everyone go on and on about their new Logitech G7 Mouse...or their nVidia 7800GT...or their XBOX 360...or their Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard...or their...

I can still vividly remember being at a $300 a plate dinner where a version of Rocky Mountain was being served. My friends wife who was sitting across from myself, whom I happened to be the director of the wine club putting on the event when she asked her hubby "What is this stuff? It seems kind of weird." Mike whispered what it was in her ear. To which she blurted out loud for all to hear "Balls! You mean we are eating balls!" At which time she promptly spit anything remaining in her mouth onto her plate and received some rather discerning critical looks by some and absolute laughter by others. That was the last time Mike took her to the annual 'Les Amis Du Vin' Gourmet Dinner.

My dad made a ton of these and wouldn't tell us what they were; he referred to them as Rocky Mountain Oysters. I didn’t hate them but I didn’t like them either. My dad loved to cook stuff that was off the wall. Like Cow Tongue, and cow Brains… I am glad I am not living at home to be subjected to his cooking any longer….
