hi guys I had problems finding the ethernet controller for dimension 8400 but i found the audio controller for the same dell machine its there in support site under audio devices select Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio and then install it in c:/dell/drivers and it will work.I am still unable to find the driver for broadcom netxtreme 57xx gigabit controller actually i downloaded one from broadcom.com site but it doesnt work.Probably we have to download from dell support site if anyone knows anything more plz let me know about this thanks
Click the red download (http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t7090.html) button at the top.
To update the driver, as there's no installer:
1. Right click on my computer.
2. Hit properties.
3. Hit the Hardware tab.
4. Hit device manager.
5. Right click on your Broadcom controller.
6. Hit properties.
7. Hit the Driver tab.
8. Hit update driver.
9. Hit next.
10. Hit "Display a list of the known drivers for this device..."
11. Hit Have Disk.
12. Select "BCM5750A1DDT.INF" from the directory you extracted the zip file to.
13. Finish the install process, then reboot.

hi thrax thanks for replying i am unable to download the driver for broadcom netxtreme 57xx gigabit controller can u plz send me the driver details as to where i could find it plz if possible send me the link thanks
I've attached two driver packages for the BCM57xx series.. Try "win_xp_2k3_32-8.48e.zip" first with the same procedure as I outlined above, and if that doesn't work, try the other.
