Hello,
Im thinking of purchasing a new cooler for my Ati Radeon 9800pro, I saw two to my liking. The Arctic Cooling Silencer (rev.3) and the Arctic Cooling Silencer 1 (rev.2). Im wondering has anyone done this mod because I read that it doesn't fit all the card that it intend to.

Since you have the 9800 Pro, I'd recommend going with the ATI Silencer 1 rev 2, since that specifically states 9800 pro fitment. The VGA Silencer 3 is supposed to have a wide assortment of fitment, but because of this it is not quite as tailored to your specific card, and you might have installation issues with it. I'd go with the ATI Silencer model.
Also, I have an ATI Silencer 2 on my 9600XT and I have to say it's a very nice cooler.

I agree. Looking at a picture of the two:

They have a very different design. The Rev 3 has a height restriction drawing (http://www.arctic-cooling.com/downloads/compatibility/height_restr_vgasil_r3.pdf) to help you figure out if the card is compatible. A bit too vague for my liking. Out of the two I'd definately say go with the Silencer 1 Rev 2. :).
