DVDs not working

Cds works ok
Deleted Nero 6, installed Nero 7
Deleted Nero7 put back Nero 6. Now 2 DVD players will not work
Uninstalled drivers and hardware, reinstalled, still can’t read DVDs
Using xp pro
Spent 2 days on this
Can anyone help

I have never had this happen to me and I use nero. Can you list some details like your DVD drive and CD drive.
