Yes, the lan is at my house. Those who came to Lan 05 know that this works out well.
Here is a map of the area. Bring a small pup tent and you will be happy :)

I'm not trying to be annoying with my not bringing stuff, but I don't know how easily it would be for me to fly a tent in. Heh. How's the room inside the LAN tent? Sorry for being a mooch. =P

Is the basement available, like last year? If not, I have a 3 room dome tent I will bring... I also have a screened in gazebo-like tent...

I've had any number of women say that about myself, too. :vimp:
This year I am doing everything humanly possible to avoid a repeat of last year's last-minute screwtitude. If all goes as planned I will be there on Thursday with a 3-Man (or 1-Man, 2-Woman) dome tent which I intend to crib-out in, and a 2BR cabin tent which will hold 4+ people without having to get too cozy. On the other hand, we could just designate it as Mantouch Manor and probably fit 6-8 of you boys in there.

Fixed.
You're so nice, prof! Bringing an entire tent for me and my womens! :p

Haha. No worries. I haven't played an FPS on my PC for a long while. It's mainly been MMORPGs. Stupid WoW. Took my life away. :p

I was scared half to death last year when primesuspect engaged in this little bit of tomfoolery. What if he'd have accidentally eaten one of the ones I put the poison on? :eek2:

I'm 40 years old. I'm getting a hotel room nearby. Last year, I bid about $33 on Priceline for a room in Warren, Michigan. The total is about $40/night with fees etc. Well worth it for an old codger like me.

My favorite part was when the people from Amnesty International showed up and tried to "rescue" you from your cold dank underground prison cell.

I need an area the plop my large self... Basement, Couch, floor... lets just hope ants are not a huge issue :) for the tents and LAN...
primesuspect
1 May 2006, 03:58 PM
The ants were only an issue because of the huge quantities of chip crumbs, sticky mountain dew spills, etc. I don't care where on earth you are, if you have a place where people are eating and drinking 24/7 and stuff is falling on the lawn/floor, you are gonna have ants EVERYWHERE.
If there was nothing for them to eat, they wouldn't come, guys :D

The ants were only an issue because of the huge quantities of chip crumbs, sticky mountain dew spills, etc. Maybe for others, but my PC was ON an ant hill. I had several hundred ants from before we started... This time, I'm moving away from that spot.... :p

And the radiation from your rig didn't kill them? :rolleyes2
Ahhh, I see!
The radiation mutated them into chip and pop fiends. :cool2:

Screw RAID. I'll see if my grandfather has another pint of asian orange (yes, the asian orange) he can part with so we can turn Brian's yard into a post war wilting Vietnam jungle- only without the landmines and mass graves.

I think it's Agent Orange and if memory serves it's also an herbicide. Now, if you want a serious pesticide look no further than DDT. My father had prolonged exposure to DDT when he was younger and now mosquitos won't go near him. Of course, DDT is also illegal in all 50 states for poisoning the local wildlife (read: endangered species).
At any rate, tell me about the "huge wildlands". Is it like brush or just tall grass? If it's just tall grass I say leave it because that's just extra padding. I'm going to bring my two-man half dome.

Asian/agent (I've seen it both ways) orange is supposed to be an herbicide, and a very powerfull one at that. Powerfull enough to wipe out just about any living thing given direct application over the course of a few hours, or at the very least a nasty slew of skin disorders lasting the remainder of your life.
The "huge wildlands" isn't THAT huge (it's only about 8'x50' last I looked), and was an old staging area used by the previous owner of the house, so it's full of untrimmed bushes which were never replanted in time, thistles, really fat ugly crickets and (you guessed it!) tall grass. It's also really ungraded with big mounds of dirt everywhere so you won't want to put any tent back there.
primesuspect
24 May 2006, 04:56 AM
And by big mounds of dirt he means one small hill..
It's been mowed and maintained since i made that. It's fine for tents :)
