For those flying in, it might be helpful to have a list of who is going to be needing a computer, monitor, whatever, when they get there.

We're going to do our best to accomodate you all. Post here with what you would like to be able to borrow during the festivities. :)

-----------------------------------------------------

Needed:

Cyclonite: Biggest monitor ya got!
drasnor: Phat CRT, preferably 19"; but anything 1600x1200 would be nice.
GHoosdum: 24" widescreen (Wins pre-LAN prize for <s>Delusional Thinking</s> Optimism)
CrazyJoe0813: The works.
Black Hawk: The works.
kittie: Gaming Rig

Bringing:

profdlp: Spare (mediocre) computer; Several monitors of varying degrees of l337-ness.
QCH2002: Nice gaming rig (Bring your own games); 19" CRT.
Prime: 2x dell USB keyboards | 17" CRTs (I have about 6 good ones)
][V][AGIC: Shuttle XPC

I'll be bringing a spare 17" monitor for sure. If the old gal is amenable I'll have a 19" CRT as well; if not, It'll be a spare 15" <s>piece of junk</s> seasoned monitor.

Cyclonite, since you spoke up first you'll have first dibs. :D

For what it's worth, I'm not that much of a gamer (though I do intend to play at least a little bit). When I'm busy <s>pushing Snuffie off my damn leg</s> chewing the fat with my fellow Short-Medians my Athlon64 3500+ and my 21" Nokia will be available for others to use.

Cyclonite

Ditto on that. I'll be bringing my rig, minus the monitor. It'll be available for use when I'm not gaming. =)

I'm bringing my laptop and a KB/mouse. I'm going to need a phat CRT, preferably a 19" but anything that can handle 1600x1200 would be nice.

I can provide a nice gaming rig, if necessary... Software is not included though. WinXP only. I will wipe the PC after the LAN so need to worry about me stealinga licence. I also can bring a nice 19" CRT.

Post in here and we'll see what we can offer.

That puts me at a monitor and keyboard. Haha. I'll have the PC and mouse. Do we need our own ethernet cable?

Last year, Prime had a box Cat5 cable... I'll be bringing a half dozen prebuilt cables.

Also... Just noticed the SM-LAN Planning Forum... oops. Prime started a thread HERE (http://short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44751) and he offered a 17" CRT.

I have one full PC that is decent - Athlon XP 1900+ or so, 1gb of ram, but it would need a good video card. If someone else could supply that, I have a whole rig for you.

We could also technically use SM18 for the weekend if the committee is okay with it - it's quite a nice machine: 2600+, 1gb ram, NF7-S.. It too would need a nice video card.

My "Spare (mediocre) computer" is actually quite similar. It would need a decent video card to make it a passable gaming machine.

What, an FX5200 isn't good enough for ya? :buck:

Using SM18 is fine by at least one Committee member (me :D ). The few points it might lose over the weekend were more than made up for by the huge upgrade you gave it.

A word of advice for those traveling by air:

You might want to bring your own mouse. There should be plenty of them available, but there's nothing like having a familiar <s>implement of destruction</s> piece of hardware when it comes to gaming. :)

(Besides, I might get lucky and beat you - I don't want anyone making excuses in the event that comes to pass. :D )

kittie requested that i ask that someone bring an extra gaming rig for her as her computer will not be done in time due to the lack of funding and me oweing her money :-/

Right, i can possibly bring 2 S939 cpu's, unlimited amount of memory and a 7900GT, but ONLY if there is mainboards for it. No point adding weight on the flight if there isn't any use for it. And no, i'm not bringing anything just because someone needs a better rig, only for those that needs a complete rig.

Might sound harsh, i know but i have 4 different planes to catch with all the running in between and i have to pick up the bags on every transit. I do plan on bringing me a new set of golfclubs home from Detroit so i'd rather try and save on weight the best i can. I weigh too much anyway :/

I can supply all the keyboards that we need. I have dozens. I also have lots of mice, but they're very basic ball mice, PS2, little bit older. Not exactly uber-gaming mice, but they'll get the job done.

Black Hawk, I don't expect to do a whole lot of gaming. You (along with others arriving w/o gear) are welcome to use my computer when I'm not using it.

I might make you wash your hands first, though. Can't have Hershey's and Ranch Dressing all over everything, you know. ;D
