View Full Version : ipod troubles
I've had my 20 gig ipod photo for about a year or so but today i had some problems with it. When I connected it to my computer it gave me some weird error about not connecting or something like that....i forget what it said. Anyway when I opened up itunes it said "unable to write to ipod" when i tried to update my songs. Other than connecting, the ipod works fine. I updated itunes, and the ipod updating software but since it cant connect, I cant update the ipod itself. I reset my computer a few times but still doesnt work. I have the warrenty for it so I'm not worried about that. I got it from bestbuy, so im gonna take it back soon, but the thing im worried about is that i have a decent amount of downloaded songs from limewire. Most of my stuff is cd's, but do you think they could somehow find out if some of the songs were downloaded? If so...i think i might be screwed.
At 1+ years, your product may not be eligible for exchange. It will probably have to go to a service center in Cleveland for repair as per your Best Buy PSP#. As far as the MP3s are concerned, they will not check, and can not tell if they're illegal or not. They'll attempt to factory reset it in the store for you to save you the hassle of sending it to Cleveland for 2+ weeks, but if that fails, it'll simply be repaired in OH or destroyed via your policy if it's uneconomical to repair, making you eligible for a new one.
Yea i know its going to be repaired, thats what the guys told me when I bought it. Its just being very annoying. I've had 3 ipods and this is the first time I've ever had any trouble

i don't like ipods...i don't like harddrive mp3 players in general...yea i have one..but if you think about it...it makes no sense...having a moving harddrive that is being read while the harddrive is in motion, like being bounced around in your backpack. No wonder why so many of them go awry. Like mine...and my gf's...and my sisters...and uhhhh
yea but they can hold so much more information. How many solid state mp3 players are out there above 4-5 gigs and cost less than $200?
