Can anyone find a guide or such on how to setup and run F@H through either Wine or VMWare? As I have searched around but can't find anything at all, though I am sure people are doing it.

There are a few Mac Teams. Maybe search their forums if they have one. I havent seen one either.
Let me know if you find anything so I can put it into the Everything about folding thread.

That probably wont be useful as I am looking for a Linux specific guide, i'll try and find some Linux specific teams.....

Oh duhh. I was thinking Wine was for Macs but they are for Linux. Well post it up if you find anything.

I've done it.. ran it for a month or 2. If you let me know where you are (starting at installing Wine to setting up F@H) and I can try to write something up :)

Folding... with Wine? I guess you could run it through your watercooling setup...
Sorry. You're allowed to go back on topic now.

I spent tonight redoing the whole thing... came out 100% better I think.
Teh link (http://www.realm7677.com/wine/)
Of course, I've done this so I forget to add things that might need to be said in order to complete this. Just let me know if any thing is fuzzy or missing ;)

Great Park. Shows that its only slightly slower than Windows.
I've ran F@H without wine. There was something they had for Linux, it was a CLI client and you just typed in where it was located and it ran. Prolly would have ran good if I knew how to config Linux to NOT run all the crap I didnt need!

There is a Linux console, but it is 30% slower and the new version doesn't work with the latest version of GCC.

Back when I played with F@H in Linux..
The Linux Console & Windows Console used different WU formats (I guess you would call it). One wouldn't read the other. Because Wine lets us run the Windows version, we have a common format and they share...
I had a dual boot to learn basic Linux... so I needed them to share. That's why I used F@H in Wine.. Is there any other reason these days?
