Hi All,
Anyone out there with MD background- My pregnant skank neighbor smokes up all of the time, and when I asked her why when she was pregnant, she said that the doctor told her that he would rather her smoke up than smoke cigs. Any truth to this?

Smoking
Drinking
Drugs
It is all bad for an unborn child.
It's not great for born children either!
If she can't or doesn't care enough to stop then she probably won't be a good mother either. what a pity!

Don't worry about it, let natural selection take its course.

Cigarette vs Cigars. I guess if she was going to smoke, a filtered cigaratte would be better but that doesnt make her any less of a dumbass though.

I think he means weed.
Sad. :-/ that kid's going to have a rough childhood.
I don't thinkthe Doc OK'd it as much as he thinks he'd rather her NOT smoke at ALL but if she did weed would be better than a cig. My guess is becuase of all the extra chemicals in cigs vs. just marijuana. One might argue it being laced, but that's neither here nor there.
In other words, she is a bitch and I feel bad for that kid. I wish I didn't know anyone like that... but I worked with some white trash girl who smoked a pack DURING work, let alone however much at home and such.... while pregnant. With a crackhead for a father, what a wonderful world when your born into a world and have no choice but live with the problems your parents handed you.

Look towards the bottom:
Probable low-birthweight. Other sources indicate lowered amount of oxygen to the fetus which affects development. Some studies show that babies exposed to marijuana during pregnancy are a little "slow".
What an idiot she must be.

Natural selection has taken a holiday. Thanks to our excellent medical system and assorted public welfare systems, even people like that will survive long enough to breed (and how!).

I couldn't see this either, but you just never know. I only PRETEND to know everything... I am so angry at her BS that I have forbidden my wife to allow her entry in my home. I don't normally put my foot down, but I am a father of two wonderful girls, 4 and 7 months, for whom I would sacrifice anything, so when I see a selfish, disgusting lazy slack-arse of a parent justifying his/her lifestyle so that they can abdicate responsibility of their unborn child, I see red. She has a 5-yr-old daughter living with her, too. The child is so sweet and smart, but you can already see the toughness developing from having to entertain herself the whole time she's awake while her mom bakes herself (and smokes, too).
Prime, her first three already are... she is so messed up that her ex has custody of two of her kids and HE has several felony drug convictions and is about to have his parole revoked. So she must be a real treat.
Kwitko, I wish it would but she has somehow come out ahead of Darwin, so far. A guy who I work with is really great, his wife is cool, but they can't have kids, so they spent several years going through adoption, and this messed-up piece of dung has 3 kids already and a fourth coming. Needless to say she won't work, so our tax dollars will go towards paying for her butts and pot, not nutritious food and clothes. She is a complete sponge, and manages to cover it up with that syrupy-sweet exterior that many use as a smokescreen. I just don't have time for people like this.
Sorry for the editorial on this family-oriented forum, but I have a hard time not venting when I think of this. That poor baby is due any day, so my wife is talking about this situation constantly.
Thanks!

Don't apologize, at least your venting on the internet rather than elswhere.
Guyute says a lot of empowering stuff that just makes damn plain sense.
Well-said, sir. Preach on.

They always get what's coming to them in the end. People like that make you wonder why the government hasn't started issuing birth permits.
The world is full of pieces of crap, and nothing we can do will change that unfortunately.
She sounds like a candidate for forced sterilization....
...that way she can go kill herself with whatever substance she wishes...
...without endangering anyone else.

3%... that's sad... :sad2: You can't just blame the mother though. The father who was dumb enough to give a crackhead a child is never blamed...

I have never met the two or three dads (yeah, that's right- 4 kids from 3 dads). Plus, she isn't exactly sure who the dad is of the latest child. Real class act, this one.

Are you sure she even WENT to the doctor. I think she just saying that so she can take a puff in public or around you or something.... :shakehead

SCAR, there is no doubt in my mind she only says that to deflect our anger... Anyone who has the life she does would actually think that we are that stupid, too. BUT I don't read every magazine and book within 10 feet like I did when I was younger, so I had to ask in case the article revealing this may have slipped by. What is all the more upsetting is that it is 2006, not 1966. Back then, they would have a baby shower with 45 people smoking near the pregnant woman. Now, we know different.
When I was 12 my doctor told me, in front of my Mom, who smoked a pack a day in front of anyone including the Pope, that I had the lungs of someone who had been smoking for two years. Ever since then, I have been a Nazi about this...Imagine a baby putting up with that.

If this was staged it would be funny, but in Real Life...

Yeah, it is sad that we have to live in a world with people like that. I wish I could really kill every single one of them and get by with it.

I would like to drive around with a fire extinguisher full of water and give'em a jet. They'd get the message then.
