View Full Version : One of my students just gave me a 'King Size' Snickers bar...
Holy freeking cow... Is this thing meant to be eaten all in one sitting? This is enough chocolate, caramel, and peanuts to kill a small dog!

New Snickers King Size -
Feel the blood straining to make it through your veins as you engourge yourself on our chocolate, caramel, and peanuts. When you think your life is too long, enjoy a snickers king size bar.

You feeling OK, CB? The only time I've heard of a student giving their professor candy it turned out to have laxatives or roach spray in it. :hair:
The students in this particular class actually like me :) ... that's rare for me though, I'm a pretty tough instructor.

kids have to be pretty ballsy to try that nowadays, that happened a couple years ago at the highschool. one teacher had an allergic reaction and went to the hospital. the kids involved went strait to jail, did not pass go, and did not collect 200.

The King-Size candy bars now are nothing compared to what they were the first year they were out. The first King-Size Snickers I ate was (seriously) 3.75 ounces...they continued that just long enough to really impress people then dropped the size by an ounce and I believe it's been there ever since.
how old are most of the students you teach? better yet, what grades do you teach?

I believe hes a College Proffessor.
Yes I teach at the collegiate level. Most of my students are either 18-20 (right out of highschool) or 30-40 (professionals returning to school, so they can get a raise/better job). The student who game me the bar works at Mars the distrobution plant here in Cinci, and she gets to take home boxes that get damaged. She handed bars out to the whole class.
This bar is 3.75 oz.
The nutritional info says that one serving is 1/3 bar!!

I dont get it, why make something so big if the serving is only 1/3 of the bar. If im going to eat something packaged, I want to eat the whole thing and not only eat like 1/2 and be tempted to eat the other half. Not that I count calories, but thats always going to be something that bothers me.

Most big fat rotund obese overweight people are in denial about the amount of calories they consume. Absurdly small serving sizes makes it convenient for them to skip the "Servings per container" part and thus trick themselves into believing that they are only consuming a third of the calories and fat that they actually are. ;)

The one that really gets me the most is the one that says on a 20oz soda bottle the serving size is 8 ounces... How many people are going to get a 20oz bottle and only drink a part of it?

In the same vein, I have a box of multi-grain crackers with the label indicating that each serving is 70 calories and only 3.5 grams of fat.
Multi-grain, huh? They ought to be good for you, right?
Serving size: 2 Crackers :wtf:
