New USB or old USB, how to tell?

Is there a quick way to establish if the onboard USB is the older slower type or the newer, faster USB 2.0? I have tried using Astra32 and visiting the manufacturer site to no avail. Mobo is an old Intel D815EEA. Any advice is much appreciated.....

Check under device manager. If it lists EHCI (Enhanced Host-Controler Interface) it's USB2. USB 1 will only list OHCI or UHCI.
