Hello, Im new to these forums but I have a question about my computer.

I run a
Compaq Presario 1050NX
AMD 64 3200 ~2.2GHZ
250 watt PSU
X850 PRO 256 MB 8XAGP
1GIG of PC2700 ( i think thats 333MHZ?)2 x 512 PC2700)

I looked at my Graphics card box because i noticed that when i changed form the ATI 9200 256 AGP that my preformance wastn taht much better..
I loked to see and it said i needed a 350 WATT PSU, i run a 250 PSU.
Would making my PSU to at least a 400 or 450 WATT PSU make my computer run faster?

Also if i changed my Gig of ram to maybe a 3200 which i think that is 400MHZ would that make an improvment in my computers speed? i only have two slots from ram which sucks but would putting in 2 512MB PC3200 400MHZ sticks make my computer also run faster.
TO put into gameplay i play games such as Battlefield 2 and i play the modifications that come out for the game.
Or would i really need to change my ram if i just buy a new PSU?

Welcome to Short Media....

For one yes a PSU should help you out, It is always good to provide more power than is needed. I am willing to bet your graphics card is running in low power mode. As a X850 vs a 9200 is a huge leap...

Ram is a big thing, first you need to make sure your motherboard can support DDR 400Mhz "PC 3200” Which I am sure it can. If so getting 2 x 1 Gig chips or even 2 x 512 chips will run better, how much better? Well maybe a 12% increase for the 2 x 512 sticks but if you went to 2 Gigs you would be a very happy man.

This link might help, I don't know what your price limit is but I think any PC3200 will do. I always say stick with OCZ and Corsair.

With your system that PSU should work great for you.
