Because I know the frustrations of a non tweaked Oblivion (stuttering, lag, visual issues etc) I've decided to start creating an auto tweaker for Oblivion.
I know there's already one out there, but development has stopped on it for the moment, so that's where this one comes in.
It's very early days yet, but I've grabbed myself some free web space and file hosting, and here's the tweaker if anyone wants to try it who isn't up to manually editing their ini files :P.

The interface will change, and more tweaks will be added as requested/found, feedback welcome

Hello Amiga4Eva. Welcome to Short-Media. I hope that you will be active here. Usually when a new member's first post is a link to an outside site, we interpret that as spam. Any comments for us? Am I off base?

Whoah.. sorry! I didn't intend this as spam. The site is just a shell to host the file, I don't have anywhere else to put the thing at present :P.
It's certainly not spam. I'm not making any profit or anything. I just did my research as far as the most active forums are concerned, and ShortMedia came up as one of the busiest discussions of Oblivion. As I only recently started using Oblivion (and loving it I might add) I decided to register here, so that I have a forum to post questions/comments and insights into the game - as well as demonstrate just what frustration with 'lag/freezing' in Oblivion will do to a guy - e.g make him develop a tool to fix it heh :)
If you you interpret this as spam, then I understand - please delete it, otherwise, thanks for the welcome :)

Amiga, thank you so much for responding to my PM and to this thread. You are welcomed to host items that you believe will improve the gaming experience of your new friends at the Short-Media community!

Is there anything that can be done to tweak visual quality at distance? I've been abled to ramp up the details with my new videocard but terrain looks quite blurred at distance.

I've seen mods that replace the distance textures with higher resolution graphics. I don't remember where, though. :honoes:

Check out the tweak guide at TweakGuides.

There is a list of mods plus the guide in itself is pretty good.
