Installing XP ALOT FILES MISSING!

brand new mobo

installing OS and there are alot of files missing. so far:
regsvr32.exe
driver.cab
progman.exe
proxycfg.exe
pscript.sep
pwrmn.hlp
qasf.dll
qvd.dll
qedwipes.dll
rasauto.dll
rasdial.exe
rasmontr.dll
rasphone.exe
ratings.chm

Why??

That's the most common explanation for that problem. A bum optical drive is the second. I'd expect a "good" disc will take care of it if the one you're using now is scratched. :)

memory... I jusrt had this happen due to bad memory. Memtest.

How do you guys come up with all this bad memory? In all the upgrades and new builds I've done, I don't ever recall having a bad memory module. Guess I've been fortunate. Now my own memory, as opposed to computer memory....
