Just an FYI for all you Gentoo users: sys-libs/libutempter has superseded the sys-apps/utempter package. To update, unmerge utempter and emerge libutempter.

Do you ever get any help on the Freenode network with Gentoo? I've been there a few times in the Gentoo channel and it's a complete waste of time. Most the time no-one even answers and if you even thing about getting annoyed you can be sure the resident Nazi there "blackace" will get you K-Lined for some bogus reason for a few months from the entire network, further reducing your chance of ever fixing one of the 5 billion bugs a day that you have to work around in your stupid ****ing Gentoo installation, don't even bother posting on the forum as that is like IRC just in slow motion, so you'll be sure to never get a response or if you do it will just be someone else saying they also have the same issue with something broken beyond repair. ****ing sick of it.

I don't get on IRC for assistance. I usually don't have to go past Google but the Gentoo Forums have been very good to me. And 5 billion bugs a day is a bit of an exaggeration and not reflective of the distro in my opinion. The bugs are usually with software installed by Portage. I'd rather have the features afforded newer versions of the software than sit on old, "stable" versions for years.
