Host Needed - Apply Here!
:celebrate SM31 Needs A New Home! :celebrate
:smokin:

After doing a great job, our teammate Twitch1106 (known as Gnomewizardd in a past life) has found it necessary to turn SM31 over to a new Host. We wish Twitch well with his upcoming marriage and would like to thank him for his faithful service to Team 93.

We've revamped the hardware a bit, so the new Host should expect a little more horsepower under the hood.

:smokin:

If you meet the qualifications for hosting one of our team's SMx machines, why not sign up to be a candidate? You could be the one chosen to house this Folding rig in your home, not to mention having that extra Folding sig to show off your status as one of Team 93's elite group of SMx Hosts.

The Hosting Requirements and Selection Process are available on the team page. (http://www.short-media.com/folding.php?v=smx) Please look them over carefully before signing up.

If you feel you meet the requirements and are willing to sign the contract, throw your name in the hat by posting in this thread and giving us some details about your hosting conditions (connection, environment, etc.) and your computer ability that would mark you as a suitable host for this SMx Folding machine.

:smokin:

Here's what we have going for SM31:
SM31 Specs:

Motherboard: Abit NF7-S (V1.2)
CPU: Athlon XP Barton 2500+
Hard Drive: WDC AC3400-40LA - 4GB
Display Adapter: Guillemot 3D Prophet DDR-DVI 32MB AGP (nVidia GeForce 256)
Memory: 256MB Generic PC2100
NIC: Onboard NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller
Case: Standard ATX Case with a Premier PS0-PR-0G350XP4 PSU

:smokin:

If you happened upon this thread by accident and wonder what it is exactly that Folding hopes to accomplish, check out Join Folding (http://www.joinfolding.com) for a quick summary of the F@H Project. Like many of us here, you could put your spare computer cycles to work for the betterment of mankind. Won't you consider joining us?

:smokin:

Sign up soon. We will give you plenty of notice before the signup period is closed and the SMx Committee vote is taken.

As per our new policy, there are no geographical limitations on hosting eligibilty.

:smokin:

Check out The SMx Project - Reloaded! (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?p=261619) thread for more information on the project in general. If you have any parts you could spare for future SMx rigs, go here (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30550) and have a look at what we need. Memory (PC1600 or greater) and Motherboards are in extremely short supply. To keep this project going we need your help.

Good luck, everybody! :fold:

Can i sign up?

If anyone recalls, I was pretty good at making that combo fly! I would of course make sure it had the memory and PSU to do so! :D

Just like another Texan some time ago, the old Goat withdraws from the race.

Wow,I stopped in to see who all is willing to give sm 31 a home.
I'm the only one?
What's happening? By this time with the other sm rigs there would be like five or six hats in the ring.
Ok so she's used, I like to think she have went through the breaking in period.:smiles:
If something could go wrong it would have went already and the profdlp
gave it a clean bill of health. ;)
Well all I can say is :woowoo: and I hope she like Florida
But that could just be me counting chicken before they hatch, but if no one wants to toss their hat in I guess I can.
As long as the SM staff :kneel: allow her to come

Why not? If I had more room and elect. I would.
now come on DONUT you have a rig so there elect., she won't take that much room.
But that's ok I have plenty of room.
My spare bedroom is my computer room, my main rig is in the kitchen so if we have company I can be online and still be socialabe.
My wife is into the food network so having it in the kitchen is good for her.
It just all I know is for dinner is the meat which at at times is a good thing. ;)
But it would be nice for sm31 to show up for my birthday.
Oh Donut the guts you sent me for a folding rig will be in in the spare room so I know she will like the company.
Also I think I need the extra rig to stay ahead of sm31, my rig is old it's only a dell 2400 and I can't have sm31 passing my rig in folding. :)

Right now I've got 4 of my own plus Icrontic 6 running and parts for another on the way. With summer here, heat is also becoming an issue. I had to shut them down the other day because I couldn't keep the room they're in cool enough.
