Last night, I received an instant message from a friend that said "haha check this out" with a link. I clicked on the link, and an executable began to run, which is when I realized I'd become infected. The Windows XP <application> is trying to contact the internet dialogue box came up, and I told it to "Keep Blocking"
I use F-Prot as my anti-virus program, as it is required by my school. The F-Prot guard tool popped up and began listing infected files. I saw Dyfuca, and no other viruses, and so figured I could deal with it later that night as I had some work to finish on the computer. That night, I set F-Prot to run a full system scan. This morning, I woke up and F-Prot had deleted various forms of Dyfuca, Qoologic and Mudrop. I re-booted, and the problem was clearly still not gone - the guard tool popped up again, but this time froze, and "downloader.skh" was the only visible item. I rebooted into Safe Mode, and ran a full system scan using F-Prot again. This deleted what appeared to be an infected cookie, as well as a couple of other generic mal-ware sounding names (downloader, agent, etc.). I rebooted again, and the guard tool again popped up, frozen (I had to end the process to get it to go away). In addition, a number of other suspicious processes were running, so I ended them, and took a HijackThis log after, which is right here:
